Canadian Reggae World TOP 20 Charts

The information below is a LIST of radio personalities (DJs), shows and stations that may help the growth of the Canadian Reggae Artist. The hope is for all the artists to make contact and send their music to these individuals.

I understand more than most what it will take to have the artist send their music to all of the radio stations and especially how frustrating it has been in the past, but if all of these stations were to play the same 20 - 25 artists or songs, a certain level of familiarity would be created with the listening audiences. We can create "THE" Canadian reggae hype and identity by having a certain level of consistency as well as a greater sense of purpose shooting for spots on a chart.

In order for the shows and the music to remain fresh, it will take communication from the artists to the DJs on a regular basis.

A competitive chart system would encourage more song writing by the artists who do not wish to be left behind by more prolific writers. This would also help in keeping the shows fresh for longer periods of time, as well as a stronger quality of music. Also, in this way we can accurately choose "reggae artist of the year" or "best reggae newcomer" or "female artists" based on credible history.

The artists are responsible for information on their career opportunities and growth i.e. gig info, bios, airplay / sales in other countries etc. Anything that may sell more product! Hopefully we can all pool our international contact lists for airplay, sales and distribution in order to facilitate 'The Canadian Reggae Invasion'!

This can become an area of fiscal growth for our industry. Your collective support would be appreciated.

If there is currently not enough music for a TOP 20 we can start with a TOP 10 to get the ball rolling, but some type of monitored chart needs to exist for our collective growth. Each DJ list may differ by show, by station or by community but we can take the results and create the "best average".

If I have left out ANYONE that should be on this list please let me know so I can add them to the list and the artists will send product to all.
